NY Strip Steak
As I've probably mentioned in these pages before, I have a horrible cable provider. No NFL network, no VOD, and for some reasons, Chicago stations. I live in Queens.
Even with the Chicago Superstations, aside from Sonic (Closest one being in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, 128.78 miles away) we do have our share of low-budget local commercials: The Tuttle Agency, Star Motors, and even CT favorite Bob's Discount Furniture.
However, on most of our basic cable stations, there have been more and more ads for strip clubs. Now, I don't really see the need to purchase airtime to promote a nudie bar, they pretty much have a built-in niche audience of lonely old men, bachelor parties, Indian Immigrants and Hassidim.
The strangest part of these commericals is that they aren't promoting themselves as a place to see naked ladies, but rather as a classy dining establishment. Like a couple is going to head to Gallagher's 2000, Pay $14 each for a bottle of bud light, sit a leopard print chair shaped like a stiletto, and enjoy a nice dinner and a show.
Going to a strip club for food is like buying Playboy for the cartoons.
I've been in a couple Gentleman's clubs from the classy, bouncers in suits, no hats allowed places to "The Glass Slipper" in Boston where one of the dancers was pregnant with her second child (I'm guessing the scar on her stomach was from a previous child). And wouldn't want to eat at either of these places.
And what about the regulars, how are you supposed to get a table dance when you're eating french onion soup?
