- Weezer's Pinkerton was rated second worst album of the 1996 in a Rolling Stone reader's poll. In 2004, Rolling Stone gave the album a new review, giving it five stars out of five and adding it to the Rolling Stone Hall of Fame.
- Former Fishbone guitarist Kendall Jones left the band to join a religious cult. John Norwood Fisher tracked him down and attempted to kidnap him with duct tape and a stun gun, and was arrested and sued over the incident.
- Connecticut gets its nickname ("the Nutmeg State", "Nutmegger") from the legend that some unscrupulous Connecticut traders would whittle "nutmeg" out of wood, creating a "wooden nutmeg" (a term which came to mean any fraud).
- Nutmeg is extremely toxic when injected intravenously. Nutmeg can also cause liver damage if used regularly in large quantities.
